Khao Lak is a popular resort on the western coast of Southern Thailand, in Phang Nga province. its quiet nature makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind - if you are looking for a party town this is certainly the wrong place, but if your goal is a peaceful and restorative holiday Khao Lak is perfect.Just offshore are the Similian Islands, a group of nine islands that was declared a national park in 1982 and are famed for their natural beauty, with some of the most unspoilt coral reefs in the country and some of the best visibility. Unsurprisingly the Similian Islands are a very popular diving spot and a major reason many people visit Khao Lak. Above the water the granite islands have beautiful chalky-white sand and tropical jungle, offering a postcard like piece of paradise.
